Do I need to replace my existing systems?
No. VendorSauce sits alongside your ERP, ecommerce and warehouse systems rather than replacing them. It connects through a documented REST API, JSON/XML exchange and pre-built connectors, and becomes the trusted source for product information across the estate.
We hold our specifications in PDF datasheets. Is that a problem?
That is the normal starting point. VendorSauce reads technical specifications straight from supplier PDFs and applies them as structured characteristics. Every extracted value carries a confidence score, so high-confidence values can be applied automatically and anything less certain is held for review.
Does the AI invent data we do not have?
No, and this is deliberate. The platform structures the information you already hold; it does not fabricate specifications. Extracted values are confidence-scored and reviewable, classification is suggested but always human-confirmed, and every change is recorded in a full audit trail.
Are the AI features included in the plan price?
No, the AI capabilities are premium add-ons. Datasheet extraction, product enrichment and the other AI-assisted features are charged separately from your plan, based on usage. That keeps the plan price predictable and means you only pay for the AI work you actually run. The rest of the platform is unlimited within your plan's product and customer limits.
Do you support ETIM and other classification standards?
Yes. Full ETIM 10 is built in, covering more than 5,640 classes with their features, permitted values and units, alongside GPC and UNSPSC. Each class defines what a complete product record should carry, which gives enrichment a clear, objective target.
Can it produce our compliance documents?
Yes. Declarations of Conformity are generated directly from the product's own specifications, standards and certification detail, so the document always reflects the current record rather than a copy that has drifted. Declarations of Performance are supported where construction products requirements apply, and datasheets and catalogues come from the same engine.
How do we know our data is good enough to send?
Every product is scored for completeness against the requirements that matter, and those can differ per customer, per channel and per standard. You can see exactly which fields, images or documents are missing on any record, and restrict an export so only products meeting the threshold go out.
How does data reach our distributors and customers?
Through a self-service sharing portal, through mapped exports in whatever format each destination requires, or through a connected sync directly into a customer's own system. Where customers are connected, corrections and updates to accepted products flow through automatically rather than needing a fresh file.
How long does it take to get started?
Usually a week or two to be up and running with your first set of products. Most customers begin with one priority range rather than the whole catalogue, which keeps the first import small and gets something useful in front of their own customers quickly. The wider catalogue then follows at your own pace.
How is the onboarding programme different?
The onboarding programme is a separate, sector-focused offer rather than the normal way to get started. It runs over three months with direct hands-on support from us, and we take a limited number of businesses from one sector at a time. The current programme is for PPE suppliers, and we plan to repeat it for other sectors and for distributors afterwards.
Who owns the data we put into VendorSauce?
You do. Your master records stay yours, access is controlled down to individual attributes so commercially sensitive fields can be restricted, deletions are recoverable, and every change is logged for accountability.
